Celtic Pharma is a global private equity firm focused on the pharmaceutical industry.
Celtic Pharma seeks to acquire direct ownership or controlling stakes in novel, differentiated and commercially attractive pharmaceutical products in the late stages of clinical and regulatory development. Celtic Pharma is committed to funding and actively managing these products through the last two to four years of clinical development and worldwide regulatory approval, including establishing manufacturing arrangements and other preparations for market launch. Celtic Pharma is pursuing a rigorous ‘”virtual pharma” model of outsourcing for all activities except strategic decision making, regulatory interactions, contract negotiations and project supervision. When these products reach approval stage, Celtic Pharma will auction them to the established pharmaceutical companies in the relevant disease areas, most of which are suffering from the inconvenient coincidence of new product droughts caused by weak internal pipelines and severe earnings pressures caused by major patent expirations on their existing flagship products.
Celtic Pharma’s initial fund, Celtic Pharmaceutical Holdings L.P., is now in active acquisition mode. Celtic Pharma also has access to substantial additional capital resources for individual transactions, in the form of side-by-side equity commitments from its own Limited Partners and mezzanine investment sources.
Celtic Pharma is based in Bermuda, and also maintains offices in New York and London.
